AskMen.com wanted me to come up with a list of "top 10 graduation watches." This wasn't easy, but I do know that a good graduation watches should be conservative, tasteful, perfect for the first job interview, and also be a sentimental item you can keep for a long time. So I can up with list of mid to entry level luxury watches for most budgets. Timeless watches that he will appreciate as a new grad and years down the road.

Swatch Celebrates The 2010 Vancouver Olympics: Happy Games, Sporty Friends, & To The Top Watches Watch Releases

Here is some hands-on treatment of my favorite Greubel Forsey watch. I was happy to spend some wrist time with the Double Tourbillon Technique timepiece last month. About half a million dollars was on my wrist (retail is about 0,000), and it felt pretty darn good. I wrote about this watch on Luxist a while ago when it was originally announced and then again on Haute Living here. And now I will write about it for a third time. I pretty much can't get enough of it I suppose. For more technical details about the watch you can refer to those articles. I want to share with you what it is like to spend time with the watch, not just "crunch the numbers," so to say.

The watch is in steel and 43mm wide and water resistant to 100 meters. Like I said, the movement is an automatic, and visible through the sapphire caseback window. The studded crown retains the nifty onyx stone cabochon in it. The Bi-Retro name comes from GG7722 movement having two retrograde counters. The watch has a jumping hour complication using in conjunction with a retrograde minute hand. Thus, the window located closer to 12 o'clock is for the hour, while it is surrounded by the retrograde minute scale. The lower retrograde scale is for the date. Overall I think the design is satisfying. It won't get current Gerald Genta Octo owners to trade their models in, but it won't disappoint future buyers either.

Audemars Piguet expands their Royal Oak Offshore line with the introduction of the Diver. While other Royal Oak Offshore models were built to endure your sporty adventures, there hadn’t been one that could accompany you underneath the sea. With the Diver, AP’s remedies that situation.

A while ago I met with the legendary Bill Yao. To some of you that name instantly evokes respect and attention, and for many of you that name is new. I will let Bill give you his total history but he is considered one of the finer watch modifiers in the US. He was one of the guys that would take a watch you already had and do things like change the dial, hands, bezel, lume, etc... Helping people to achieve their "dream look." Then Bill started MKII watches - his own brand that offers ready built watches, as well as ones with a number of customization options in the spirit of what Mr. Yao is most known for.

Replica Jaeger LeCoultre Rendez Vous Night Day

The case is made out of Angular Momentum's new preferred steel - Staybrite 1.4435 Ncu that is specially resistant to corrosion and is very high quality. The case is 46mm wide and 12mm thick. The lugs are singular and like large knobs at the ends of the case. The strap is a very rustic looking natural rubber. The dial has the special luminant in green and blue applied right onto the "lemon" gold face. It isn't easiest to tell in the images, but the dial is in fact gold. This creates the dial design. The hands are further covered in lume and are very wide. Actually, the hands are milled in the middle and lume enamel is filled in to the new space. This is a called Plique à Jour, while the style of the dials enamel application is called Champlevé. Angular Momentum placed a lume covered metal disc over the hand where they connect to the pins. This is a new style for Angular Momentum that enhances the look of the watch even further.

If you like darker watches, the Classico Blue has a PVD black coated version in addition to the brushed steel model. Price is just a bit more for the sand-blasted PVD watch if you like it better. Inside the watch is a Swiss ETA 2824 automatic movement. With a nicely architected case, 1000 meters of water resistance, and a Swiss automatic movement, the price for the Classico Blue watch is pretty fair. Prices start at 0 for the steel version with a leather strap (0 with the metal bracelet), up to 0 for the PVD version on a metal bracelet (0 in PVD on the leather strap). Both watches also come with an addition sports strap (probably rubber) with blue trim to match the dials. See where to buy below, and then tech specs below that. Oh, and the Classico Blue will be a limited edition model, but I am not sure of how many pieces.

Powering the watch is a Japanese Miyota 8245 automatic movement that offers hand-winding (not something to take for granted in all Japanese automatic movements). The 24mm wide watch strap is a thicker leather, with a wrinkled texture on it and white stitching. I like the "mini Panerai" style buckle with the Praesto name engraved on it. In my opinion the strap is a better fit with the two other versions of the Modern Aviator - as it also comes in a black dial or black dial with PVD black case version. For the blue dial, I am considering what other straps might look good with the watch. I am thinking about a blue rubber strap that will match the modern sportiness (and color) of the dial more.

The planetarium weighs about 100 kilos and is 150mm tall, and about 91cm in diameter. The table and mechanics where done by the mechanic Rémy Chauvin. Like all good stubborn watch makers, Louis Moinet refuses to let go of Pluto as a planet in the solar system, so it is right there along with the rest of the planets as well as the Sun. The contraption features the Sun in the center with each of the planets moving around it in real time. The planets and Sun where made by artist Jean-Yves Kervévan. Each of the paints and varnishes used are hand made, and dust from meteorites is used on some of the orbs . Only the Earth has its moon represented which revolves around the Earth. There is a scale for the zodiac that show was period we are in. Each of the constellations of the zodiac is covered in gold dust and top Wesselton VVS diamonds (154 of them totaling 5.6 carats). The planetarium mechanics are a bit of a mystery to me right now. I know they are all well made, but I am not sure if the device is electrically powered, or somehow manually wound. It is a pretty neat item to have in one's study or foyer, but I would dare not place the Meteoris with the watches in a place where people can snag one of them easily. The Meteoris also has a foot switch that can be activate to show you the rotation of the plants sped up, as simply watches them move in real time would be very slow.

Tutima DI 300 German Dive Watch Review Wrist Time Reviews

Size is a reasonable 42mm by 15.4mm, 200g on the bracelet. The movement is the tracteur ETA 2893, the standard for GMT movements. It's not ideal - I prefer the modified versions as found in Omegas that allow the main hour hand to be moved in 1-hour increments - but still useful for tracking two or three timezones.
